Meal & Workout Planning {May}

I've gotten badly out of the habit of working out every day.  It seems like the longer I go, the easier it is to make excuses as to why I shouldn't or why I can't or why I don't have time.  This is probably true about nearly every aspect of life, but I've come up with a new plan.  I'm going to plan out all of our meals for the month of May.  After I've chosen meals for each day, I'll go in and "assign" exercises to myself based on how much time I have to work out either before or after dinner.  We'll see how it works.  =)  I've come up with 7 different exercises that I enjoy doings, but I easily get bored.  I can do 6 each week, a different one every day, and still have one day off a week.
(1) Walking
(2) Yoga
(3) Jogging
(4) Swimming
(5) Outdoor Biking
(6) Stationary Biking
(7) Dance Workout

Yeah...I'm a mega-genius.  ;)  Maybe.  We'll see how this plan works.  I've never in my life had so much "structure" but maybe it will help me.  I'm pinning a lot of these recipes & exercise variations, so follow me on Pinterest if you're interested!  :)

Saturday, May 5
**I'll be out of town with my mom and grandma, so I probably won't work out.  However, we will do a bit of walking on Saturday.  While it's not a work-out, it's better than sitting still.

Sunday, May 6
**I'll get home sometime this afternoon, so we'll probably eat light but not have much time to work out.  I'll start back on Monday.

So, maybe people will think I'm lazy or finding excuses as to why I "can't" work out.  Whatever.  LIVING is more important to me.  Spending time with people I love is more important to me.  I choose life.  I'd like to choose health and life simultaneously...but it's not in my genes.  I can kill myself to be skinny & healthy OR I can spend time with people I love when I have the chance.  Or...I can do a little of both.  I pick both.  =)

When I get home from being away, haha, I'll be in desparate need of a trip to the grocery store!  Using my handy dandy shopping list printable, I'll make a huge trip!  I went ahead and did a menu-plan for the month of May so that I'd know what ingredients to stock up on.  :)  If I don't stick to it exactly, it's okay to rearrange things, you know.

Monday, May 7
I'll have to make a special effort to do Yoga on Monday Morning, because I'll go grocery shopping Monday after work..

Since my plans are for the entire month, I'm prepared to be flexible.  I know that things will come up - events at church, dinner with friends or family.  BUT, my point is to have the majority of the ingredients on hand and exercises to do along with those meals.  This will (hopefully) help me make time for healthy activities.

Bike Rides

I made a comment in passing to my grandma about how I'd like to ride bikes down our 1/2 mile gravel driveway...we were just talking about exercising and being outside!  Well, she gave us two bikes!  =))  I've loved being outside and being active - all while admiring the beauty around me.  I especially love having my husband ride along with me instead of doing it alone.  I guess the only downside is that our eyeballs like to catch bugs.  Gross.  And after we've rode our bikes for several miles, we kind of walk like cowboys.  ;)  Enjoy some pictures we snapped along the way!

And then we got Zombie a basket!  :)  Mr. Robinson got tired of carrying Zombie after...oh...5 or 6 miles.  And the poor little puppy can barely run along side us for one mile.

What are you doing to stay active this spring?!  It's SO gorgeous outside!!

I've Gotta Get Back On The Bandwagon!

I haven't completely fallen off the bandwagon yet, but I'm barely hanging on.  I feel guilty all the time, but I guess that's good, right?  It's good that I feel guilty because that means I still have a fighting chance right?

No, I'm not drinking all the time.
Or partying ever night.
I'm certainly not smoking dat ganga green again!

No, I'm talking about.....the health bandwagon.  I've almost fallen off.  Luckily I've only gained one pound back in the week+ I've been...naughty.  I've been pinning some inspiration and I hope that these will help me get my butt into gear...as soon as I can shake this sinus infection.  Being able to breath is a pretty vital part of exercising.

Today's Workout Plan

A few minutes ago, I published this post right here.  It's about how I want to participate in and Color Run in Charlotte this coming October.  I have plenty of time to get into shape.  8 months.  Today is day one of my running-training uh..thing.  I wanted to print out a copy and take it with me, so I just decided to share it on my blog.

Before I start with the workout plan for today, let me just say that this will not be my every day schedule.  I have some catching up to do because I missed three days of working out.

(1) I wasn't able to work out Friday night.  My parents are on a cruise and they wanted us to go out to dinner with them before they left.  By the time I got home, I could have gone and worked out but it was already 10 pm and I was pooped.
* Sunday's are my day of rest.
(2) I wasn't able to work out Monday because I got drunk at lunch.  Oops.
(3) I didn't get to work out yesterday, Tuesday, because I had a hair apt. as soon as I got off work and I have a ton of hair.  2.5 feet, to be exact.  And it takes a super long time to cut and color that much hair.  I got home, Mr. Robinson had cooked us dinner, and by the time we finished eating it was 9:30 and I had to work this morning.

Working out for an hour to an hour and a half was out of the question on those days.  But, I feel super guilty and want to make up for it.  The good news is that Saturday I did 200 reps of my ab workout instead of the usual 100.  To catch up, I need to do 300 reps today.  No big deal.

And then I'll go home and probably die.  I am not sure how much of the upper-body stuff I'll do.  Today is my first day doing it, so I'll just push myself and keep count so that I can record my progress and create a plan to push myself.
