Part Thirteen: The Getaway

Post # 13 is the last wedding post I'll do.  :)  I've enjoyed recapping the entire day and have loved the sweet comments from y'all.  =)

[Part One] [Part Two] [Part Three] [Part Four] [Part Five] [Part Six] [Part Seven] [Part Eight] [Part Nine] [Part Ten] [Part Eleven]

Me tearfully hugging my parents goodbye..
Mr. talking to his dad...because we realized we don't have any of our luggage in the get-a-way car!  & Me...still crying

One of my favorite pictures...look behind the car to the right.  My husband shaking my daddy's hand before we leave.  Ah..my heart stops.  =)

After we left the reception, we road across town to spend the night at a Bed & Breakfast on the waterfront.  Mr. Robinson's parents brought us our luggage & his car (we had a little lack of communication haha), my parents came to get my gown & his tuxedo so that we wouldn't have to take them on our honeymoon...and then I cried all over again.  My poor husband...haha!  I was a mess!  I was so sad that the wedding was over and it just hit me all of a sudden that I was separate from my parents now.  Even though I was excited to be married it was sad at the same time, because I had just recently entered into SUCH a great relationship with my parents.  After they all left, I showered because (as you may remember) I didn't shower the morning of my wedding.  I didn't shave my legs until after the wedding either.  Rule-breaker.  =)   And since we had to be at the airport at like 4:30 in the morning, we got around...oh...2 or 3 hours of sleep.  =)  I can't wait to start telling y'all all about our amazing fairy-tale honeymoon next!  Thanks so much for reading all about our perfect wedding day.  If you missed anything, you can start from the beginning by clicking here.

& they lived happily after...

Part Nine: Special Dances

When we got to the reception, we hugged on a few people really quickly before going ahead and getting the special dances out of the way.  I cried.  A lot.  They were all very emotional.  Enjoy the pictures!

Mr. Robinson and I danced our first dance as a married couple to "Stolen" by Dashboard Confessionals.

I watch you spin around in your highest heels
You are the best one, of the best ones
We all look like we feel
You have stolen my
You have stolen my
You have stolen my
You have stolen my heart

Then, Daddy and I danced the father/daughter dance to "You Are My Sunshine" by Bing Crosby.  He has always called me his sunshine and used to sing that song to me every night before I went to sleep when I was a little girl.

You are my sunshine my only sunshine you make me happy when skies're grey
You'll never know dear how much I love you please don't take my sunshine away
You told me once dear you really loved me and no one else could come between
But now you've left me and you love another you have shatered all my dreams
You are my sunshine...

Mr. Robinson and his mom shagged for the mother/son dance.  It was absolutely precious and a nice change of pace since I was already crying like a baby.  :)  Their song was "How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You" by James Taylor.

How sweet it is to be loved by you
How sweet it is to be loved by you
I needed the shelter of someone's arms and there you were
I needed someone to understand my ups and downs and there you were
With sweet love and devotion
Deeply touching my emotions
I want to stop and thank you

Later into the reception, we had another special dance.  We asked our DJ to pick any random love song (and of course he ended up choosing a song we'd never heard before) and get all of the married couples to come out onto the dance floor.  We started dancing and after the first minute he told all of the couples (besides the bride & groom) who had been married for 5 years or less to sit down.  After about 30 seconds, he told everyone who had been married for 10 years or less to sit down, and so on and so forth until it was just us and both sets of my grandparents dancing.  When the song was over, the couple who had been married the longest was handed a microphone and instructed to give us some marriage advice.  My daddy's parents had been married the longest out of everyone there (which we didn't know!) and advised us to love each other, not take any crap from each other, and to always apologize - even if you aren't wrong.

By the way, today is our 8 month wedding anniversary.  Dear Mr. Robinson,  8 months ago we danced and snuggled and made googly eyes at each other.  Thank you for marrying me.  =)  Thanks for picking me to spend forever with.  Thanks for being a good rat-dog-daddy.  We adore you.  Let's try to make googly eyes at each other every day, k?  I love you.  Kishes!

Part Eight: The 1957 Corvette

My daddy is, and always has been, a Corvette guy.  The same goes for his dad, who bought a 1957 Corvette in mint condition some time ago.  When he got tired of the upkeep that comes with a classic car, he passed it on to my daddy.  My parents decorated the car while I was getting dressed.  Daddy drove me to the ceremony in the car.  Mr. Robinson and I signed our marriage license on the hood of the car, and it was our getaway car that we drove to the bed and breakfast we stayed at on our wedding night.  Here's some pictures of this busy little car throughout the most perfect day in history.  :)

And here we have my parents making out...that's not awkward. ;)

And after we smooched on each other for about an hour, we finally got around to making it legal on the hood of my daddy's 1957 Corvette, which will get it's own post later.

So..there they are!  Which one's your favorite? =)
